Temple Hills resident Daniel Anantharajan Williams was arrested following an investigation into a string of robberies in the area over the course of four days last week, authorities announced.

The burglaries were reported between Sunday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 20,  one in the 2400 block of Crain Highway, while the others were inside the 2400 block of Old Washington Road.

A spokesperson for the Charles County Sheriff's Office said that in Williams' final robbery, he allegedly stole several fireplace inserts, grills, and other items, prompting a call to the police.

Patrol officers responded and found a fireplace was positioned near the outside of the fence, and they came up with a plan to capture the suspect burglar.

Armed with that knowledge, officers coordinated their scheme, leading to Williams' arrest when he went back to the business to fetch the items he left behind. Further investigation linked him to the other break-ins on Old Washington Road, and nearly $25,000 in stolen property was recovered from his home.

The 37-year-old was charged with multiple counts of burglary and theft scheme. He was released from the Charles County Detention Center on an unsecured $3,000 bond following his arrest.
